...almost drunken pecan pie...

Do you know about the magazine Garden and Gun?  Do you know about my husband and I?  It's pretty much our dream magazine.  He likes guns, I like to garden.  And then they made a magazine about it.  Perfect.  He picked it up the other day, and there was a recipe in there for pecan pie, and the chef was from Ohio.  Done and done.  Fine- I'll make it.

I did...for Thanksgiving...and according to some of those who ate it, "this is the best pecan pie I've ever had.."  I didn't really know all that went into making this pie, and after the fact, found it to be quite simple.

The recipe called for dark corn syrup and bourbon.  Although both would be wonderful I had light corn syrup and no bourbon- and we did just fine.  I do want to make it someday with bourbon and see just how much that flavor shines through.  Until then, I think I'll make this again someday soon, but maybe in little tart form- because wouldn't that be fun?!
